Streets Space Invaders

Only the most popular fads received the coveted licensed ice cream treatment in Australia, so it’s a testament to the legendary Taito Space Invaders video game to see this Milk Bar advertising sign from the early 80’s. While it was the first video game ice treat it wouldn’t be the last, as I’ll show in future posts. I’m looking for the wrapper and box for this ice cream if you know of one, also who was the lucky person that won the actual cabinet? Straight to the pool room.

Hi I came 5th nationally in this competition and I have photos of the machine and me but unfortunately the machine was sold to a friend when I moved house. Happy to share the photos with you. Do you recall when the ice cream was for sale in Australia?

Hi Jeffrey that’s amazing! Would love to pop up your photos, contact me via the contact to page. I’m not sure exactly what year they were released, I’d guess about 1982, anyone know for sure? Will
